Congratulations to our 2022 Girl Scout Bronze , Silver , and Gold Award recipients ! These Girl Scouts have dedicated many hours to designing and implementing remarkable projects , and we are glad you can be here to celebrate their accomplishments with them .
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement within Girl Scouts of the USA , earned by Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts . While its name has changed over time , the significance of earning the highest award in Girl Scouting has not .
Today , these Gold Award Girl Scouts join more than a century of incredible Girl Scouts who have taken action to create a true and meaningful change in our world .
The Gold Award is the “ mark of the truly remarkable ” as it requires the recipient to develop a sustainable solution to a world or community issue . While completing their projects , they learn about and build on their leadership skills to make a difference in the world . Recipients of the Girl Scout Gold Award who enlist in the
U . S . Armed Forces may receive an advanced pay grade and many universities and colleges offer scholarships to Gold Awardees . Annually , Girl Scouts of the USA
selects ten girls as National Gold Award Girl Scouts ( previously National Young Women of Distinction ) based on their Gold Award projects . This honor is given to Girl Scouts whose Gold Award projects demonstrate extraordinary leadership , have a measurable and sustainable impact , and address a local challenge related to a national and / or global issue .
Juniors earn the Bronze Award by teaming up with other girls to make a difference in their towns and Cadettes earn the Silver Award by researching an issue , making a plan to address it , and then taking action to improve their communities . By earning these awards , Girl Scouts see their own power and make a lasting change in their community . At GSSNE , we hope that every Girl Scout Bronze and Silver
Awardee will set a goal to earn their Girl Scout Gold Award ( and perhaps be selected as a Girl Scouts of the USA National Gold Award Girl Scout )! We know that
our Girl Scout Gold Awardees will continue to inspire others as powerful members of our community .
Behind every amazing Girl Scout is an amazing support system that are there to provide advice , cheer them on , believe in their Girl Scout , and support their dreams and goals .
