Admissions criteria

Published admission number : 310 places
Where the number of applications is less than the published admission number all applicants will be offered a place .
Where the number of applications is greater than the published admission number ; after the allocation of children with an EHC plan , the admission criteria will be applied in the following order of priority :
1 . Catholic looked after Children and Catholic children who have been adopted ( or made subject to child arrangements orders or special guardianship orders ) immediately following having been looked after .
2 . Catholic children with a Certificate of Catholic Practice with a sibling at the school at the time of admission .
3 . Catholic children with a Certificate of Catholic Practice
attending the following Primary Schools at the time of
application :
• Our Lady , Greenford
• St Gregory ’ s , Ealing
• Holy Family , Acton
• St John Fisher , Perivale
• Mount Carmel , Ealing
• St Joseph ’ s , Hanwell
• St Anselm ’ s Southall
• St Raphael ’ s , Northolt
• St George ’ s , Sudbury
• St Vincent ’ s , Acton
4 . Other Catholic children with a Certificate of Catholic Practice .
5 . Other Catholic siblings ( those unable to supply a Certificate of Catholic Practice ).
6 . Children from Christian Orthodox Communities NOT in Communion with Rome .
7 . Other looked after children and children who have been adopted ( or made subject to child arrangements orders or special guardianship orders ) immediately following having been looked after . Including children who appear ( to the admission authority ) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted .
8 . All other applications : Non-Catholic Faith , No Faith , incomplete applications .
Tie breaks In the case of over-subscription in any category , priority will be given to children whose parents / legal guardians ’ residential address is the shortest distance from the main gates of the Cardinal Wiseman School in Greenford Road . The distance from the applicant ’ s home to the school will be measured by straight line from a point in the property determined by Ordnance Survey to the main gates . If 2 or more children have equal priority after applying all the criteria then the Local Authority ’ s admission system will undertake a random allocation .

Distance of last child to be offered : 2.806 miles
Multiple births / siblings in same year group
Where a final place is offered to a child who has a twin or sibling ( s ) applying for a place in the same school year , these siblings will also be admitted . This would mean , the Governing Body would admit above PAN that year without prejudice .
Supplementary information form ( SIF )
All applicants should complete the Cardinal Wiseman Supplementary Information Form ( SIF ) which is supplied in the application pack or can be downloaded from the school website . The SIF must be completed and returned to the school by 31st October .
Catholic applicants applying under criteria 2 , 3 , 4 and 5 must also submit a completed Certificate of Catholic Practice by the closing date . This form is available from your parish or from the Diocese of Westminster website www . rcdow . org . uk / education
Waiting lists
A waiting list for unsuccessful applicants will be created and maintained for one academic year from the date of proposed admission . When places arise children will be ranked and admitted according to the published oversubscription criteria regardless of when the application was received and no priority will be given to those whose applications were received earlier . At the beginning of each subsequent academic year , those still on the waiting list from the previous year will be contacted to ascertain whether or not they wish to remain on the list .
