Admissions criteria

Published admission number : 180 places
Where the number of applications is less than the published admission number all applicants will be offered a place .
Where the number of applications is greater than the published admission number ; after the allocation of children with an EHC plan , the admission criteria will be applied in the following order of priority :
1 . Children in Public Care ( Looked After Children ) - and previously looked after children who were looked after , but ceased to be so because they were adopted ( or became subject to a residence order or special guardianship order ). Including children who appear ( to the admission authority ) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted .

Waiting lists
If it is not possible to offer parents a place for their child immediately , the child ’ s name will be placed on a waiting list . The criteria for admission will be used to determine the position on the waiting list .

2 . Children who , at the time of their proposed admission , will have a sibling attending Northolt High School . ‘ Sibling ’ refers to all blood , half , foster , step and adoptive brothers and sisters ( not cousins ) who live at the same home address as the child and in the same family unit on a permanent basis or for the majority of time in any calendar year . A sibling relationship will not be considered when the older child ( ren ) will leave before the younger one starts ).
3 . Exceptional medical circumstances relating to the child . Applicants must send a supporting letter or report from the child ’ s consultant at the time of application . If this is not done then we will not consider the application under this criterion .
4 . Exceptional personal circumstances . You must include any personal circumstances you want us to consider at the time of application . If this is not done then we will not consider the application under this criterion .
5 . Children who live within closest proximity to the school .
Tie breaks In the event of there being insufficient vacancies to admit all applicants in all of the categories detailed above , priority will be given to children whose parents ’/ legal guardians ’ residential address is the shortest distance from the centre of the school site , as measured by a straight line . In those instances , where applicants have the same priority on distance , the tie-breaker shall be random allocation .
