Thought the Alps in winter was all
about skiing? Well, think again. If
you are a small group of between 4
and 8 looking for some winter sun
and wonderful landscapes, why not
try snow shoeing in the Alps. We
have guided holidays for novices as
well as those looking for something
more challenging. See page 44.
The Calanques National Park on the
Provence coast is an ideal early
spring break. Enjoy stunning
scenery and views where impressive
cliffs surround wonderful drowned
valleys. Tip: If you are looking for
quiet trails and empty beaches,
March is a great month to choose,
with only the first week coinciding
with French school holidays. See
page 28.
The height of spring is a great time
to visit the stunning waterfalls and
dramatic gorges of the Jura or the
panoramic landscape of the beautiful
Beaujolais region and taste their
contrasting wines. See pages 17-21

Our self-guided walking holidays get
under way. Walk the Pyrenees
Coastal Trail between France and
Spain. The Mediterranean sea keeps
the Catalan coast mild, even in
winter and pleasantly warm in the
Spring and Autumn. See page 27.
Spring truly gets under way in all
but the higher altitudes. If you’re
looking for warm weather, quiet
trails and stunning medieval villages
then why not take a look at either of
our moderate walking holidays in
the Luberon in Provence or the
Tarn in south west France. See
pages 33, 47 & 48.
European Museum Night in
France, where closing time of the
museums is postponed to about
1am, allowing the public to visit by
night, for free and see their collections in a different, unusual and
more sensory way.
