Precious Beginnings - The Bradeon Elimelech Malachi Thompson Story

By Chercara Thompson

My partner and I have been married almost 1 and a half years now and we always knew we wanted kids straight away. However after years of undiagnosed medical issues (most likely cause PCOS) we kept losing our precious bubs. Finally we got our miracle when we found out we were expecting Bradeon. The excitement was short lived however as at our 6 week scan they suspected him to be ectopic, we found out a week late that all was good and tried to be hopeful, I got Hyper emesis and glandular fever and had to go for frequent drips at the doctors office and then at 8 weeks I started experiencing sharp pains and we knew what was coming as Christians we just stood in faith and pray as we knew that was all we could do, they did blood draws over a few days which showed a steady drop in my HCG levels and then at 9 weeks I was rushed to NSH Emergency with bleeding and cramping bloods drawn then showed that my levels had dropped by 100,000hcg over night and we were told to go home the next day and just wait it out. Well after much prayer nothing happened and at 9.5 weeks they decided to re-scan and there he was with tiny little arms and legs moving about and one of the strongest heart beats they had seen, we could hardly see the pictures through our tears.

Things started getting better from there the hyper emesis went away and I was cleared as not having glandular fever anymore and things remained pretty uneventful until about 16 weeks.

I felt light tightening but didn't think much of it kept putting it

down to round ligament pain from the way I was moving as was

looking after kids so was always bending, stretching and picking

up, however it only got worse and finally at 19 weeks I knew

something wasn't right so I got my mum to pick up me and my

husband and head through to the hospital. They did a trace and

picked up the tightening but just put it down to severe Braxton

Hicks contractions, they mentioned it was fairly early to be feeling

them but said I was probably just very sensitive and had a low pain threshold. But they only kept getting worse, I kept going back to ED and they kept dismissing it finally putting it down to irritable uterus and said it was nothing to worry about. I saw a high risk specialist who said even tho you could physically see and feel the contractions that it wasn't that bad and I should just get on as normal.
