Special Thanks to SKIN PASSION for kindly donating a $30 voucher for our Volunteer of the Month Award.
Our organization was started when I was still doing home schooling, sitting at home looking through freecycle and was alarmed by the amount of posts from parents who were truly battling and were happy to receive anything just to take care of there kids. I started talking to some of the mums and got to know there situations and decided I wanted to make a change, why couldn't people that no longer needed their items pass it on for a good cause? I started with a lovely lady who had a young baby and a toddler and everything in her house had been destroyed by mould and they didn't have the finances to move, so we bought with our own money a cot, change table, clothes, etc. and took it through. She didn't say much and I walked away feeling defeated till about an hour later when I received a txt saying she was over whelmed and in tears as she had never expected a blessing like that, and it was right there and then our organization was born.
Currenlty our donations from people and sponsorships, so the more the word gets spread the more we can help different families.
We are currently getting set up as a registered charitable non-profit organization and I hope to se us going completely nation wide helping as many families as we can and being fully sustainable on donations and sponsorships.
Several parcels have already been sent out, some local and some as far as Christchurch.
We want to get the word spread and our biggest goal at the moment is to get a new much larger venue to work out of as we are definitely to big to work out of our current location. We are developing fundraising plans at the moment.
