STUDYING FULL-TIME
FOR YEARS ON END IS
A CHALLENGING AND
SOMETIMES DAUNTING
JOURNEY. THE
UNCERTAINTY OF JOB
PROSPECTS AT THE END
OF STUDY FURTHER
COMPOUNDS THE
STRESS EXPERIENCED
AND MAKES STUDENTS
NATIONWIDE ASK, ‘IS
THAT 8.00AM LECTURE
ACTUALLY WORTH
GOING TO?’
This line of questioning is a slippery slope, which can
lead to assignments only being completed at the last
minute, procrastination habits and a general lack of
motivation. As we all know, these behaviours and
mindset doesn’t do wonders for our GPA.
CareerTrackers supplies Indigenous students with the best remedy to
combat this ailment: paid internships in large companies that provide
students with practical experience that expands and builds upon what is
taught in the lecture theatres. It is a not-for-profit organisation with bold
ambitions to make a difference, not only in outcomes for students, but the
Indigenous community as a whole.

Jacob is currently
in his fourth year of studying a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of
Information Technology degree, with majors in IT Management and
system development.
Like many university students, Jacob had the challenge of balancing part-
time work, in addition to his full-time study.
Jacob is currently interning at Accenture’s Brisbane office as a team
member in their Systems Development department. He has relished the
opportunity to learn from professional experience in his field and has used
this mentorship as motivation for his study.
Jacob is continuing with Accenture during upcoming semester breaks and
is confident that the internship will result in a job opportunity after
he graduates.
