Change is

There is no hiding the excitement we all feel about the Christmas holidays nearly being here
(again) and the semester coming to an end! We’ve all got dreams and plans for those balmy
summer days, full of free time and endless opportunities to travel and explore something new.
But what if you don’t have the time or the funds to live out those dreams somewhere exotic?
We’ve all heard the saying that change is as good as a holiday, and we’re here to show you
that the exciting, refreshing feeling that comes from a well-earned break can be found without
having to leave the country or even your home town. If you find that you’re just unable to get
away, here are some ideas to help you change things up and start the new year with a great
post-holiday glow.
1. Change your mindset
After stressing over all those endless, tiny-printed
textbooks, class notes, exam timetables and
assignments, your mindset is definitely in need of a
makeover. The best way to do this is not to worry
about your results or what you could have done
better during the semester, but instead indulge
yourself in books or magazines (that aren’t related
to your studies!), watch a good movie, go out for a
coffee date with your friends and catch up on all the
news and stories you may have missed during the
semester and have a good laugh! Get back into the
habit of enjoying yourself and doing the things that
make you feel happy and relaxed.
2. Change your environment
or your view
Clean out that cluttered cupboard, donate some
old clothes, take down your mood board and make
a new one or splash out and spend some $$$ on
new homewares to spice up your study space. Get
creative! Rearranging the furniture in your bedroom
might seem simple but can work wonders, and those
small spends like a picture frame here, or a new
lamp there, can drastically change the look of your
personal space. Stuck for inspiration? We’ve got you
covered.
