USQ achievements
Join with us and celebrate some of the incredible achievements of our USQ
alumni and current students in their professional careers! Share your own
on USQ social media and we may feature you in the next issue of HeyU!
PhD candidates Joe Barry and Lea Meagher have won
prestigious Grains Industry Research Scholarships,
which link their work at USQ’s Centre for Crop Health
(CCH) with organisations in Turkey and Australia.
Students from Hervey Bay State High School and Fraser
Coast Anglican College pitched their ideas at the recent
Change Makers Pitchfest forum this month. Both teams
were rewarded for their efforts with a total of $7000
being awarded to turn their ideas into a reality!
Congratulations to USQ Lecturer Dave Robinson, who was
recently awarded Life Membership of the Queensland
Rugby Football Schools Union at the recent state titles.
Only 10 Life Memberships with the union have been
awarded, making this honour especially exciting.
USQ student Belinda Nicholson recently won a scholarship
to further her research at one of the world’s most
prestigious astronomical organisations. Her scholarship
will take her to Germany where she will spend 12 months
studying at the European Southern Observatory.
