uni life WHERE TO EAT Bounce Café Where: uthven Street, Toowoomba R plus USQ Toowoomba and USQ Ipswich campuses VISIT ON FACEBOOK Whether you wake up to it every morning, relax with it on your lunch break, or rely on it to pep you up during your study session, great coffee can be a loyal friend and great source of comfort. Not to mention the added benefits of the feeling you get when you walk away from a warm and friendly customer service experience. This is what you can expect when you visit Bounce Café, as well as the great vibe and friendly atmosphere that the team at Bounce create. In addition to its Ruthven Street store, Bounce Café is located on-campus at USQ in Toowoomba and now Ipswich, offering students and staff a great range of fantastic beverages (if caffeine is not your vice), in addition to a selection of yummy treats. While I guess it’s no surprise that Bounce Café does offer great drinks, yummy food and fantastic customer service, owner David Burrett has successfully brewed a working environment which resulted in Bounce Café being awarded the 2013 Social Justice Award by the Social Justice Commission which is run by the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba. In 2014, Bounce was again acknowledged, receiving the Queensland Disability Awards Employment and Training Award. By employing people who face employment barriers, Bounce actively seeks to help break down stereotypes and stigma around mental health and other areas of disadvantage. So the next time you grab a quick cuppa before class, you can feel good in knowing that your contribution is helping provide people with more opportunities. Good on you Bounce Café, we love your work! WORDS & IMAGES: BELINDA CAMERON – USQ Alumni
