During their busy rehearsal schedule I was able to arrange an
interview with Emma Cook who will be playing King Lear in
this year’s Shakespeare in the park as well as Bridget Jurgs,
the stage manager whose job is to oversee everything behind
the scenes of the production. Both students were an absolute
pleasure to talk to, we could have easily spoken for another
half hour at the very least but alas it was not meant to be.
Featured is an extensive excerpt from our much longer chat.

“This year we’re
going to be a bit
more connected
to the audience
with how it’s
staged and
we’ll be sort of
enveloped by
them which will
allow them to be
a part of it and
understand the
story a lot better.”
– Emma Cook
