Exam Preparation
If any of these are found in a student’s possession they
will be breaking the examination rules, even if they do
not intend to use them. They will be disqualified and will
lose all their marks.
It is that time of the year again
when Year 11 students are
involved in GCSE summer
examinations. There are also
mock examinations taking
place for Year 10 students and
end of year examinations for all other year groups.
Personal examination timetables have now been given
out to all students. Please let the school know if you
haven’t received one or would like another copy posting
home. I wanted to take this opportunity to remind
students what is expected of them and to give them some
general guidance so they can be best prepared for their
examinations.
Always be on time - students must be present outside
the examination room 15 minutes before the start of the
examination in readiness to be seated and to start on
time. If they are late for a GCSE examination their work
may not be accepted and if they are absent without a
valid reason parents will be charged the entry fee for the
examination.
Students are generally not allowed to leave the
examination room once the examination has started.
They must ensure they visit the toilet before going into
any examination.
When the examination is in progress they must not
communicate or disrupt any other student. If they need
help or want to ask a question they must raise their hand
and an invigilator will go to them.
Students and parents must be aware that misbehaviour
during an examination will not be tolerated and if
this happens during a GCSE it may be reported to the
awarding body as malpractice. This could result in
disqualification and loss of marks.
If students or parents want any further advice or want
to query any examination dates then please give me a
call. Students can come and see me any time before and
during the examination period.
Information about results day will be in the next
Newsletter.
