Salutatorian : Rhett Uselman
Quinlan Independent School District names Rhett Douglas Uselman as the 2024 Ford High School Salutatorian . Rhett is the son of Tyler and Jennifer Uselman and has two siblings , TJ and Addie Uselman . Rhett reached the number two spot in his class after attending Ford High School during his junior and senior years . Through high school , he received numerous academic-related awards , including Magna Cum Laude as a freshman , induction into the National Honor Society his sophomore year , received the National Rural and Small Town Recognition Award , and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society for junior colleges his junior and senior year of high school . He participated in football and baseball at Quinlan Ford and earned the District 14 4A Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-District in baseball . Rhett will graduate with 50 hours of college credit through UT Austin and Paris Junior College . While Rhett is undecided on which college to attend , he has received numerous academic scholarships from each school he has been accepted including Penn State , the University of Alabama , Ole Miss , and LSU . Rhett is waiting on additional offers before making his final decision . He plans to study Chemical Engineering and hopes to pursue baseball at the collegiate level . Valedictorian : Areltte Orellana
Quinlan Independent School District proudly announces the 2024 Ford High School Valedictorian Arlette Michell Orellana . Arlette is the daughter of Olga Marcelino Sanchez and Jose Orellana and has three siblings : Adriana , Kaylee , and Leila . She has attended Quinlan schools since the seventh grade when she moved to the district from Dallas . In high school , Arlette held leadership positions , including president of the National Honor Society and History Club , treasurer of the Student Council , and a Junior World Affairs Council member . In the summer of 2023 , she was chosen to attend the Subiendo Academy hosted by the University of Texas at Austin , which provides opportunities to rising leaders in preparation for addressing the future challenges of our state and nation . Her career training accolades include earning her Microsoft Word , QuickBooks , Accounting Foundations , and Entrepreneurship and Small Business certifications . Academic awards include the Hispanic Heritage Award , College Board Rural and Small Town Recognition Award , Global Youth Leaders Award , Daughters of the American Revolution ( DAR ) Good Citizen Award , and the Outstanding Student of the Month in DAR . She is set to graduate from Paris Junior College before graduating from high school in May , where she earned the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society membership . Arlette is accepted into the University of Texas in Austin and is double majoring in International Relations and Global Studies . She is part of an elite group to be admitted into the UT Austin Plan II Honors Program , which is the first of many scholarships she has won for being selected for the program , worth over $ 44,000 .
