GREENVILLE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL VALEDICTORIAN | THOMAS KENDALL WITT
Greenville Christian ’ s Headmaster , Mark Reisner , is pleased to announce the Class of 2021 top graduates . Thomas Kendall Witt is valedictorian with a GPA of 4.25 .
He has been a student at GC since Pre-K . This year he served as president of the school ’ s National Honor Society chapter as well as treasurer of his class . His junior year , Witt re-organized Fellowship of Christian Athletes on campus and functioned as its student leader .
Additionally , as a junior he was a COVID virtual Texas Boys State attendee . As a sophomore , he was selected by Greenville ’ s Golden Kiwanis as the Sophomore of the Year for the Texas-Oklahoma region . Throughout his high school career , he has been a part of the school ’ s weekly chapel group as a member of the worship team . At the recent Athletic Banquet he was honored with the Iron Man Award by playing all three sports all four years in high school . TAPPS awarded him Honorable Mention All-State this year for football . Witt has also been a part of a Destination Imagination team placing 4th at Globals , Student Council class representative , and cast member in Sherwood Forest .
Witt has continued his avid involvement by volunteering locally at Hands of Compassion , FISH Ministries , Operation Christmas Child distribution center , and Boles Homes . In his home church , First Baptist Emory , he helps with the community block parties that its members sponsor and is active with the youth . Beyond the area community he has served on mission trips by working construction in Costa Rica ; leading children ’ s camps in Houston ; and cooking and cleaning in a homeless shelter in Shreveport .
Next year , Witt will attend East Texas Baptist in Marshall . Awarded the Presidential and Christian Leadership scholarships , he will major in secondary education with emphasis in math . In addition to this , his future plan is to continue with his education by earning his masters in divinity .
Thomas Witt is the son of Tracy and Tom Witt of Greenville . His grandparents are Paula Witt and the late Thomas Witt of Greenville , and Tom Dunaway and the late Patty Dunaway of Liberty , Indiana .
GREENVILLE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL SALUTATORIAN | KENNEDY JO FRYAR
Kennedy Jo Fryar is Greenville Christian ’ s salutatorian for 2021 with a GPA of 4.10 . Fryar has been a student at GC since 8th grade , and since then she has been actively involved in every area of the school .
For three years , she was a member of SADD / Heroes chapter , helping with planning and directing week long events at the school from elementary bike parades to Red Ribbon activities for older students . In the spring she volunteered with the local organization to set-up the community-wide Walk-a-Thon .
This year she was elected treasurer of the National Honor Society as well as vice-president of her senior class . Throughout high school , Fryar was the sound technician during the weekly chapel time . For three years , she was a class representative in Student Council .
Last spring when the school closed for COVID , Fryar was the theater director ’ s assistant and mere weeks from production . When the school finally opened for show-time in June , one actor was quarantined , so Fryar stepped in and took the role . Her servant ’ s heart is further evidenced by her volunteering at FISH building planter boxes and working in the garden ; preparing food bags for distribution and leading chapel services at Hands of Compassion ; and cleaning buildings and organizing maintenance sheds at Boles Home .
Athletically , Fryar has been recognized in volleyball with 2nd Team All-State honors , Academic All-State , and District MVP . In 9th grade , she was recognized in softball as Freshman of the Year , and recently with 1st Team All-District .
Fryar is an active member of her youth group at The Quest Church in Royse City . She serves as a Teen Leader for youth events and is also a volunteer with the Children ’ s Ministry area at the church .
Fryar has been accepted to East Texas Baptist . She has also received the Christian Leadership and Presidential scholarships . Her major will be secondary education with a concentration in mathematics . She will also take course work in youth ministry so she will gain knowledge of how to better volunteer with church youth groups .
Kennedy is the daughter of Rachel and Rocky Fryar of Royse City . Her grandparents are Pennie Rankin of Greenville , and Ange and Mark Collins of Rowlett .
