On the defensive side of the ball, Colvin made a bold claim that he believes the Bulldogs defensive line is the best in the district.
This unit will be headed up by players such as Caden Williams, Mateo Moringlane and Kingston Rogers. Those three alone totaled 81 tackles in 2025 and 4.5 sacks.
The team will also look to have dynamic playmakers once again in the secondary in players such as Teagon Woods and Brandon Derrough-Harris.
Woods was a physical defensive back in 2025 who totaled 94 tackles, three tackles-forloss, a sack and two pass deflections.
Derrough-Harris was more of a ballhawk in the secondary, totaling 60 tackles with 14 pass deflections and two interceptions.
Outside of keeping the standard of toughness, the team has several other goals players look to accomplish this season.
Colvin has a consistent goal of wanting the team to become state champions but the team itself also has its own smaller goals they hope will eventually match their coach’ s end goal.
The team is looking to take a step forward this season by making the playoffs, however they are also stamping their district matchup against their cross-county rival Rockwall as a test of their progression this season.
Colvin described the Yellowjackets as a“ powerhouse football program” the team wants to make a statement against.
Last season, Rockwall got the best of the Bulldogs in a 48-31 offensive showcase. The team will be looking for redemption this year and a trip to the postseason for the first time in four years.
