THE EAGLES RETURN AN EXPERIENCED ROSTER, AIM TO MAKE 2026 A SEASON TO REMEMBER.

By Alex Havardansky

The 2026 season is shaping up to be a big year for the Greenville Christian Eagles. Not only is the team following up its first playoff appearance in 20 years, the Eagles are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the school’ s existence.

In order to follow up the success of last season, thirdyear coach Brandon Fauley has a core message that he hopes each member of the team carries into the season and that is“ dying to yourself.”
“ When the boys are united in a common purpose to serve – not just themselves but the team – that also binds them to the program,” Fauley said.“ It’ s not going to be about us, it’ s going to be about serving our school, serving our community and playing for our Lord.”
However, Fauley has several mental and attitude tests he is looking for the team to be exceptional at as well in order to have success.
Some of those include doing the“ little things” correctly in practice and in preparation for games. Fauley said he adopted this approach from observing successful college coaches like Nick Saban and Kirby Smart.
Some little standards that Fauley looks for the team to uphold are things like having the appropriate dress code during practices or bringing a notebook and actively taking notes during film sessions.
On top of this core message, the team puts in several physical and mental standards for players to follow going into the season and as the season progresses.
The main physical key Fauley is looking for in his players is for them to be in peak physical condition to compete at the highest level. This offseason, the team has been at it in the weight room and on the track three days a week to prepare for the toll the regular season brings.
