Having those two veteran presences on the defensive side will be critical for the team, according to Crane. The coach said his main area of improvement he is looking for as the season progresses is to see the defense continue to mesh as the group lost seven starters from last season.
Other veteran leaders on that side of the ball include players such as Hayden Stubbs. Stubbs will be manning the front seven in the linebacking core where he finished his 2025 campaign with 92 tackles, a sack and two tackles for loss.
Other players Crane will look to see continue to step up this season include Connor Nickell, William Mc- Namara and standout middle linebacker Donald Pierson. Pierson was a force at one of the most important positions on the defense in 2025 with 141 total tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack and a pass deflection.
With key returning pieces to the squad, Crane and Company look to continue their success in 2026.
