Beth Shunkwiler,
Ms. All World Beauties International 2012
Beth, tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Beth Shunkwiler, and I am currently Ms. All World Beauties International 2012. I grew up in Michigan, where I graduated from Olivet College with a double major of Biology and Secondary Physical Education. I was named All-American during my senior season of softball for Olivet College. I began teaching in 2006. I received my first Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University in Education in 2009. I moved to South Carolina in 2011 to teach and coach.
I have a wonderful father, Ted Shunkwiler, who has supported me through everything. I have a great older brother, Todd Shunkwiler, and a beautiful niece, Ella, and nephew, Jacob. In my spare time I enjoy reading, going to the beach, cooking, and playing with my dog, Kenzie.
What made you decide to compete in pageants?
After college, I started looking for a pageant that met my demographics, but as I looked, I was amazed that there were almost no pageants that I could complete in. I was over 30, single, and educated. I focused on community service instead of a performing talent. I was so excited when I found the All World Beauties pageant organization. I competed in the first year of the Ms Division.
What titles have you held?
I have held the titles of Ms. Michigan US Beauties 2011, Ms United States All World Beauties201, and Ms. All World Beauties International 2012.
What advice would you give to someone who has never competed in a pageant?
I would tell anyone to go and compete in a pageant! You learn so much about yourself. You make wonderful memories and lifelong friendships. Make sure you do your research when looking for a pageant and talk to the director, so you know what their pageant is about.
How has being Ms. All World Beauties impacted your life?
I was shocked when I was crowned the very first Ms. All World Beauties. Since then, I have been busy promoting my platform and the All World Beauties pageant organization. I have truly enjoyed representing All World Beauties for the last three years. I have made some amazing friends and met a lot of truly wonderful, strong women.
What plans do you have in the future?
I plan on either becoming a state director in South Carolina or competing again.
