Although Valentine’s Day has only recently become popular among the Scandinavian countries, it nonetheless has its own traditions. In Norway especially, besides the giving of gifts, the men also sends their lover a “Gaekkebrev”, which is an anonymous love note. The woman has to guess who the sender is by looking at how many dots are on the note, which represents the number of letter in his name. If she guesses correctly, then she receives an Easter egg on Easter. However, if she guesses incorrectly, she would have to give an Easter egg to the sender.
