“In the Vietnamese culture, profession is everything. Doctors, lawyers, dentists... it's all in the job description. Since parents push all their children to aim high from an early age, there are many respected women in these professions of high income. However, take one step outside the typical cookie-cutter careers and it's a whole new level of criticism, bias, and "how can they make a living?" In the workplace, gender is not so big of a deal - provided that the job you hold is a respectable one.”
