Dear Culture Girl,

There are times when strength is essential in times of despair. Strength is the string that connects all of us. It keeps us sane. It keeps us moving. It keeps us together.

Working on Her Culture, in all of its wonderful aspects, gives me strength every day. In times when I feel that I am doing too little or too much, Her Culture is there to remind me that there are awesome things in life to look forward to and to love.

I am encouraged every day by the growth of the organization. You, Culture Girl, give me the strength to do what I do and do it well. Learning about different cultures, festivals, news, and traditions across the world help me realize that even though the world is large, we are able to make it smaller.

Which leads me to my next point: sharing is even better than strength. So often we want to hold things in and not tell others of our worries. We find that holding in emotions is better suited in social situations.

Yet, sharing is what makes us know about each other. When we share our emotions, our apologies, our wants, our dreams, we then open ourselves to meet other people. When we share what we love, then we start to know ourselves, too.

I hope you find that Her Culture is a way for you to share yourself and to learn about others. I hope the organization gives you the strength to be YOU!

With all my love and gratitude,
