A note from the CEO of the World Hepatitis Alliance
Elimination is the buzz-word of the month.
High-level policy meetings took place in Brussels,
Tokyo and Croatia, all focusing on the concept
of elimination. Members of our Executive Board
travelled to London to spend two days discussing
the newly launched 2016 – 2017 Strategic Plan
and how this year’s activities can help drive action
towards elimination. We also held our first patient
advocacy webinar, where 80 people from 50
countries tuned in to hear from expert panellists
on how they can use policy documents to effect
change, with a particular focus on the upcoming
WHO Elimination Strategy for Viral Hepatitis.
We feel hepatitis is finally starting to get the
attention it deserves and in order to keep up the
momentum we are very excited to announce the
theme of World Hepatitis Day 2016: ELIMINATION
