Drug-Drug Interactions
Pharmacists must understand how a medication is
metabolized in order to understand its potential for
drug-drug interactions. The route of metabolism for each
medication is described in the package insert under the
section entitled Clinical Pharmacology. The package
insert is often included with the medication stock bottle,
and it can be viewed on the manufacturer or the Food
and Drug Administration (FDA) website.1 Details about
