A little story never hurt anyone... ‘Cover Them Up” Illustrated By: Catherine Grinstead It’s quite funny really, I mean a few years ago wearing fishnets, oddly patterned tights, and stockings worn as outerwear, were all frowned upon. Back then; you wouldn’t think twice about getting your pins out and showing them off with the use of thin fabricated leg covers. It’s strange how much the world of fashion has changed, and how much certain views upon particular fashion trends have adapted and moved on with time. From a young age I was always covering up my legs with thick jeans and leggings, just as people around me were always against younger children showing off too much skin, I’m sure most of you can relate back to when your parents told you to dart upstairs and put something ‘more appropriate’ on, especially when it came round to your old nans ‘60th birthday party’. I remember running upstairs pulling out those same old jeans ready to get changed, wishing that the day would eventually come round were I would be old enough to wear my favorite sparkly dress without having to layer leggings underneath it. My love for clothing began when I was around 10 years old, before that it was my mum’s passion to dress me in pretty little girly outfits, outfits that I really had no clue about.
