Wet/Prevented Harvest. The biggest risk to this year’s crop is an excessively wet harvest that could not only prevent the crop from being harvested at all but even if it is harvested, excess moisture can lead to mold, mildew and huge quality discounts. eWeatherRisk’s excess precipitation programs protect against excess moisture leading into and through harvest to protect against these issues.

 

Killer Freeze. The next biggest risk to this year’s crop is an early killer freeze. Hemp is quite hardy (and high CBD oil plants, in particular, allow the oil to replace water and act as an anti-freeze). Because of this plant content, several hours of temperatures in the low 20’s or lower can cause significant losses.
