Neurology is the science which deals with the Nervous System. Neurologists are physicians, who diagnose problem of neurological disorders and treat them. Neurologists deal with research to develop new kind of treatment methods. Neurosurgery is the surgical specialty which connected with the critical care, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of the disorders which affect any part of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and cranial nervous system. Brain tumors, intracranial aneurysms, subarachnoid hemorrhage, head injuries, spinal canal stenosis, herniated discs, tumors, fractures, and spinal deformities are some conditions which are managed by neurosurgeons. The life of a neurosurgeon is very interesting, but it is not that much easy. Many operations take many hours and practically not easy. They should be responsible with the surgical emergencies. NEUROLOGY For example: subarachnoid hemorrhage, severe brain injury, brain tumors, sudden compression of the spinal cord etc. The main goals of a neurosurgeon is to help patients to relieve unbearable pain ( for example: headache), improve motor function, control seizures and to eliminate tremor. There are many subspecialties in neurosurgery. Cerebrovascular neurosurgeons, pediatric neurosurgeons, neurosurgeons who specialize in spinal surgery, Neurosurgeons who specialize in the field of complex seizure disorders, neurosurgeons who specialize in functional surgery are some of main subspecialties in neurosurgery. Cerebrovascular neurosurgeons concern about disorders of the blood flow to the brain. Neurosurgeons who specialize in spinal surgery deal with disorders of spinal column and spinal cord. ( herniated discs, scoliosis and spondylolisthesis. )Pediatric neurosurgeons deal with neurological disorders affecting children.
