ARTCURIAL MONACO AUCTION WEEK PULLS IN € 20 MILLION

The legendary Artcurial Monaco Auction Week , which took place from 15th to 21st July at the Hôtel Hermitage , brought in international collectors for a record-breaking € 20 million in sales of jewellery , watches , bags , comic art , sculptures and more . Following the success of the January 2022 session , which totalled over € 7 million in sales , a fine set of contemporary and antique jewellery pieces won over enthusiasts and collectors during the latest auction week . An extraordinary 17.5 carat emerald-cut diamond set in 18k white gold started an exciting bidding war and sold for € 1,274,400 .

The 73rd edition of the Monegasque Red Cross Gala was held on July 18th on the Place du Casino , in the presence of the royal couple . After months of absence , Princess Charlene made a remarkable return to one of the Principality ’ s social events . The royal couple joined the guests who attended the charitable gala dinner , which was served on the forecourt of the Monte-Carlo casino accompanied by a beautiful performance of Alicia Keys . Camille Gottlieb , who is a member of the Monaco Red Cross Board of Directors , was also present . To start the festivities an exceptional cocktail dinner was served to 650 guests gathered around the Princely Couple , on the terrasses facing the sea . The Red Cross Ball in Monaco is one of the largest charity galas in the world , bringing together the most famous and prominent people , many of them from the ruling houses of Europe . The Ball is held every year and is the culmination of the summer season in Monaco . The funds were donated to the Monegasque Red Cross , to help finance its projects locally and internationally .

A new stamp , commemorating HSH Prince Albert II and the 40th anniversary of his Presidency over the Monaco Red Cross , was issued by the Principality ’ s Office des Timbres . The new stamp features a delicate and realistic watercolour portrait of the Prince , painted by Stefanie Van Zyl , a Namibian artist who lives near Monaco .
