: Is it true that each of your pieces of art has a special message ?
DZ : My message is a message of love , of understanding , of caring , of feeling good . My paintings are about things that I love . I ’ m not a tormented artist , I am a very happy artist . So , I promote happiness . You live once , it ’ s not important to see what nobody sees , but
I love the energy of Monaco , it ’ s always moving , the energy is good .
to see what everybody sees and feels good about . Everyday when you wake up , if you ’ re healthy , if you ’ re alive and you ’ re here , and you breathe , enjoy it . Because life is short and everybody is going to die , but not eve-
Ceramic — The Speckle Face rybody lives . So , I promote living . Living , for everybody , is so important . Just go live .
If you cannot afford the best wine in the world , but the cheapest wine in the world : have a glass of wine . Look at the sunset . Take a walk , look at the trees , look at the flowers , smell the flowers , feel it inside . Go to the museum , it ’ s free . Enjoy the most beautiful things that have been done in history and get that sensibility inside of you , let it penetrate you and feel . That ’ s what life is about . Have a good life because it goes by fast .
: But the last two years have not been easy for everyone . How did you get through it ?
DZ : Fortunately for me , I had the chance to spend time with my family , I had a chance to paint and not have to go to exhibitions or things like that . So , for me , it was a good reflective moment . And like everybody else , I think , I learned how to cook better . I got to spend time with my kids , which is the most important thing in my life .
: What do you like to eat ?
DZ : I like everything , that ’ s the problem , I like it all ( laughs ). I love paella , Spanish omelette and jamón . And croquettes , I love croquettes , it ’ s a problem .
