Sotheby ’ s Auction in Monaco Surpass Karl Lagerfeld ’ s Choupette ’ s Wildest Dreams

Rumoured at more than 200 million euros , Karl Lagerfeld ’ s estate is of fascinating interest — if also to Choupette his beloved feline companion who is also reported to be an inheritor . For all those awaiting to inherit and all those admirers who would like to own a possession of the star designer , the first act of the sale dedicated to the succession of Karl Lagerfeld took place at Sotheby ’ s auction house in Monaco . This was the first auction orchestrated by Maison Sotheby ’ s . It took only two days in Monte-Carlo for 100 % of the lots offered for sale in the hall to be sold for a haul total of just under 10 million euros ! The Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé was reported sold for 375,500 euros . The three Rolls Royces , estimated at around 300,000 euros each , are all on the way to new homes . The black Phantom model of 2018 sold for the highest price at 436,000 euros . Next came the Phantom Drophead cut model at 375,500 euros and the blue Cullinan at 369,450 euros . Fourth reported biggest success of this auction : a silkscreen print on canvas by Japanese visual artist Takashi Murakami . This portrait of Karl Lagerfeld on a multicolored background made up of smiling flowers found a buyer for the sum just short of 290.000 euros . A drawing entitled ‘ The three muses Inès , Anna and Vicky ’ signed by the designer (€ 201,600 ), two work binders (€ 189,000 ) and three inspiration notebooks end the list of this most exciting auction .

Inspiring the Next Generation : An Exciting New Yacht for 2022 , the Greener Malizia

Pierre Casiraghi and the celebrated yacht Malizia are charging ahead with a greener campaign over the next 5 years . Pierre Casiraghi is vice-president of the YCM and founder of the Malizia team ; he has presented in December some of the highlights of the new five year program for Malizia including : the Route du Rhum in 2022 , the crewed Ocean Race in 2023 and the Vendée Globe 2024 / 2025 . And soon Malizia 2 will be superseded by this greener version ready for new challenges . An appointment has already been made on November 6th , 2022 in Saint-Malo for the start of the Route du Rhum , with two boats under the colours of the Yacht Club de Monaco , including of course Malizia 3 . Monaco will continue , via the Malizia team , to conduct scientific experiments in the seas of the world thanks to a multitude of sensors and devices connected to Malizia 3 .

The Most Important Milestones in Life : Births , Marriages and Deaths recorded in the Principality in 2021

At the beginning of each year , Monaco Town Hall communicates certain census figures called the “ civil status ” for the past year as well as a comparison with those of the previous year . 976 births , 498 boys and 478 girls , took place , nearly all at the Maternity Unit of the Princess Grace Hospital Center ( CHPG ) and only one at home in 2021 . Regarding place of residence of the parents of these births , 248 families were domiciled in Monaco and 728 outside the Principality — many from the municipalities of Menton ( 220 ), Roquebrune-Cap-Martin ( 110 ) and Beausoleil ( 103 ). The top 5 of the most popular first names in 2021 are Victoria , Louise , Lena , Léa and Anna for girls and Gabriel , Matteo , Leo , Louis and Raphaël for boys . Most deaths occurred in hospital ( 87 %) or clinics ( 5 %). Among the deceased , 297 were domiciled in Monaco and 306 in neighbouring municipalities . In terms of unions , 181 marriages were recorded in the Principality in 2021 ( compared to 174 in 2020 ). For the second consecutive year , the number of divorces fell slightly with 58 divorces recorded in 2021 ( compared to 63 in 2020 and 70 in 2019 ), all nationalities combined .
