OPENING OF THE HARBOUR WATERS OF THE NEW CALA DEL FORTE MARINA IN VENTIMIGLIA

The exciting opening to boats of the harbour waters of the new Cala del Forte marina in Ventimiglia has taken place on October 15 , 2020 , after three years of work , and despite the difficulties encountered in the progress of the site related to the episode of Covid-19 . The Société Monégasque Internationale Portuaire ( SMIP ) opened the new lake to boats into the Cala del Forte marina in Ventimiglia . Tuiga , the flagship of the Yacht Club of the Principality of Monaco , entered the port , the first of all to be moored there . Tuiga ’ s entry into Cala del Forte represents a moment that is both historic and highly symbolic . A ceremony took place in sobriety with only the Monegasque and Italian authorities , given the context both linked to Covid-19 and to the floods that hit Ventimiglia recently .

MOSAIC ART & MUSIC CONCERT AT VILLA EPHRUSSI DE ROTHSCHILD

At an appropriately socially distanced

soiree at the Villa Ephrussi in Cap
Ferrat , music lovers and art collectors gathered for the second Mosaic Art and Music evening . In celebration of Beethoven ’ s 250th anniversary , pianist Tatiana Smelova performed a touching program of one of Beethoven ’ s last sonatas ( op . 109 ), which was followed by an exhilarating Chopin Scerzo . The concert was completed by César Franck ’ s prelude and fugue , which was a true feast for the senses , giving the audience an emotional stir and which , as a result , beckoned for encores . Tatiana Smelova performs internationally and gives piano master classes in Monaco and on the Riviera . The art on show featured five stunning
works by leading Japanese contemporary artist , Yayoi Kusama . This was the first time that Kusama ’ s work was shown on the Côte d ’ Azur , and was a wonderful opportunity to see her jewel like pieces close up without the usual throngs at Kusama ’ s shows .
Mosaic co-founder and art director Dorian Jabri , who also deals in modern and contemporary art , said : « The pumpkins and infinity works are classic Kusamas and it was wonderful to have Kusama collectors in the audience , as well as those for whom the works proved to be a new discovery . We intend bringing more of her work to this part of France as there ’ s clearly an appetite from both seasoned collectors and investors for

her work ». Kusama lives in Japan and is still producing works , even at the age of 91 . Dorian Jabri describes her as a living international treasure .
