sports, because we have 40–50 nationalities. A lot of athletes come
for the first time and after only three hours, it’s like they were a
member for 20 years. Everybody is the same in the Star Team, Prince
Albert as well. He’s an athlete like everybody else. That is the secret
of this charity association.
HM: Do you know what your life’s purpose is? What is your goal?
MS: For me, life is one all-encompassing engagement. To be able
to ponder the future all the time. This is what is given to you, the
power of life. First of all, for me, life is family. That my family is well,
the children are ok, my brothers, mother, everyone. After that, work
honestly. Because it’s important to work. If you don’t work, your
HM: Have you ever differentiated your job from your life’s purpose?
Some people treat their job as a way of making money but a life’s
purpose is something different, something which helps us under-
stand the meaning of life.
MS: First of all, I never confused or put together my private life and
my job. The people who work with me aren’t friends. My friends are
outside of my career. This would be a big error. For me, it’s two sepa-
rate things. After we organize an event with the Star Team, when I go
home, I’m another person.
Monaco is like a painting. Class,
security, wonderful people,
intelligent and rich and the
quality of life. It is a perfect place.

HM: Do you remember the last time you were absolutely happy?
MS: I think it’s complex. For example, you win one race, you are so
happy momentarily, but it’s not complete happiness. If you also
life has no motive. And to do what I like. Take my time, help people,
do sports. My final thing is to maybe be here for another 30 years.
If people think only about work and money, they lose life, because
they don’t live. Health is important, this also depends on your style
of life. If you exaggerate and abuse your health before, you’ll pay
after, this is not a secret.
