Education Academy
HEB ISD created the Buinger Career & Technical
Education Academy to provide cutting-edge opportunities
for both L.D. Bell Raiders and Trinity Trojans. As a
result, BCTEA students have known all along that we
are “Better Together.” Our student survey comments
consistently mention this unique combination as one of
their favorite things about attending the Academy:
“The bonding between two rival schools is amazing.”
“I like that both Bell and Trinity come together here.”
“It merges Bell and Trinity students together and students
still retain positive attitudes.”
“I love getting to spend time with Trinity kids and participate in classes that involve special interests and career choices.”
“It’s a nice way for both schools to come together and get to meet new people and faces.”
BCTEA students from different programs also collaborate through cross-disciplinary Integration Projects.
Teachers and students develop collaboration ideas and propose them to the programs they would like to
work with.
Last year, the Digital Arts students and Culinary Arts students collaborated to design and create cakes. It was full-on
cake war! Throughout the planning process, both programs learned the importance of effectively communicating
their ideas and concerns. They learned new techniques for communicating vision and they persevered through
the challenges. The results were outstanding and even the cakes turned out “Better Together.”
