In February, the Buinger CTE Academy held its annual CTE
Student Career Fair. More than 35 employers were present
and interested in employing CTE students within HEB ISD.
Hundreds of students attended and had the opportunity to fill
out applications, meet with employers, and even participate in
on-site interviews.
Myles Turner of the NBA’s Indiana Pacers has donated all new Nike
reversible practice jerseys to Central Jr. High. In total, the donation
includes about 160 jerseys for boys and girls athletics. Myles Turner
attended Central Jr. High before graduating from Trinity High School,
and continues to support the Hurst-Euless-Bedford community with
various philanthropic projects.
Viridian Elementary’s Showcase Night celebrated the
wonderful programs offered at Viridian and the diversity of the
school. The event was a great opportunity for families to watch
various programs and performances by students. Guests also
got to sample diverse foods from around the world.
At the 2017 HEB ISD Geography Challenge, 1st place went to
Maverick Ganzo of Central Junior High and 2nd place to Thomas
Haak of Bedford Junior High. Third place was a three-way tie
among Luke Ramcharita of South Euless Elementary, Maddox
Olatunde of Viridian Elementary, and Cason Garrett of Harwood
Junior High. Congratulations to all our impressive students!!
Students in Mrs. Aelvoet’s first grade class at Lakewood used clues
and schema to infer who their weekly mystery readers were. During
one week, the students were honored to have the Mayor of Euless,
Linda Martin, as their mystery reader!
The 5th graders at Bell Manor Elementary are incorporating S.T.E.A.M.
(Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics)
into their artwork in Mrs. Teagarden’s art class. Students recently
completed Pendulum Paintings where force, motion, paint velocity,
and speed were all considered in the final outcome
