HEB ISD Education Foundation: Awards of Excellence March 23 rd was a night of celebration at the annual HEB ISD Education Foundation’s Awards of Excellence dinner. The Foundation recognized 33 outstanding high school seniors and their teacher mentors in 14 fields of study from LD Bell, Trinity, KEYS, and the Buinger CTE Academy. More than 200 Foundation supporters, elected officials, community leaders, and school district officials attended the event and enjoyed a dinner catered by the HEB ISD Culinary Arts students from the Buinger CTE Academy. “Working together, Texas Health HEB and the HEBISD Education Foundation are supporting the growing minds of our student community. We applaud their hard work and commitment to their goals, and remain encouraged by their certain bright futures.” - Deborah A. Paganelli, FACHE I President Texas Health HEB The honorees were selected by their campus lead teachers in each area of study including, art, band, choir, communications, English, math, PE/Athletics, science, social studies, theater arts, and world languages. Career and technology education fields included business and industry, public service, and STEM. The event concluded with an inspirational monologue by Jeff Burnett, senior pastor at First Baptist Hurst, and the Master of Ceremonies of the evening.In his final statement, Dr. Burnett spoke directly to the honorees, “May there be many other high-water marks, such as tonight, in your future. And from this day forward, as you go forth to change our nation and the world, may your destiny be continually defined by – excellence!” Events and programs, including the Awards of Excellence, are made possible through the generosity of corporate and community donors to the HEB ISD Education Foundation’s Superintendent’s Circle of Giving annual giving campaign. The mission of the HEB ISD Education Foundation is to raise and award private funds and community resources to support the HEB ISD’s commitment to excellence in education. The Foundation, established in 1995, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization guided by a volunteer board of directors who have a sincere interest in the success of our students and staff.
