STEM ( Science , Technology , Engineering and Mathematics ) education begins with fostering a sense of wonder and providing students hands-on field experiences within each of the STEM disciplines . It supports the learning and development of essential , innovative , creative and foundation skills needed to create a community of learners , thinkers , and global citizens .
