Bell Helicopter (an Adopt-A-School partner of Central Junior High) hosted middle school teams from six school districts in a day that focused on STEM. Central sent two teams of five students to the event at Alliance Airport, at the Tarrant County College (TCC) Aviation campus. River Trails honored those who serve our country at the school’s first Veterans Day Assembly. Students participated by making posters, singing the National Anthem, and bringing photos of veterans in their families, and the 5th grade even performed America the Beautiful with American Sign Language. Representatives from Bell Helicopter visited Shady Oaks Elementary to introduce and support a major Hour of Code activity. Students learned to enter specific instructions so the computer would know how to play a variety of games. Meadow Creek hosted its annual Grandparents and Friends Day on Friday, November 17. More than 500 grandparents and friends ate lunch and visited classrooms with the help of teachers, staff, and PTA. This was a great opportunity to display to the community all the wonderful things happening at Meadow Creek. This year’s Pulling For Hope event raised more than $117,000 for local families! This friendly competition supports 6 Stones’ Night of Hope program which brings food, gifts, and joy to over 4,000 deserving children and their families in the community. Teams from Hurst, Euless, Bedford, HEB ISD, and Redi-Mix Concrete pulled five school buses in a race across the Pennington Field parking lot. 31
