Euless Junior High
Mentoring Program
Euless Junior High is very fortunate to have a strong mentoring program partnership with Calvary Pentecostal Church . Tara Ryan , the Communities in Schools social worker at Euless , coordinates this program with Roy Ballard , mentor coordinator from Calvary . Each week , 15 dedicated mentors from the church come and spend quality time with their mentees . They talk about academics , family , and goal setting , with the mentors acting as another caring adult for their students to talk with .
In November each year , Calvary hosts a homemade lasagna dinner for all the mentee students and their families , so parents can meet the mentors and enjoy a family dinner together . At the end of the night , all families go home with a turkey and all the trimmings for a nice Thanksgiving dinner … plus door prizes !
