Pennington Field has been a major point of
pride in HEB ISD for the past three decades.
The first L.D. Bell vs Trinity varsity football game took place
October 16, 1987.
Pennington Field
Turns 30
Once construction began in 1987, 1501
Central Drive became a landmark in the HEB
community.
It’s much more than a football field.
When Pennington Field was built in 1987, it was impossible
to anticipate the powerful positive impact it would have on the
community.
Among high school sports teams and marching bands, the
stadium has grown a reputation for letting students shine -- if
they’ve put in the work. Each year, thousands of athletes and
musicians prove themselves on the Bedford turf.
The current Athletic Department works
hard to make sure guests have a fantastic
experience at Pennington Field.
Our Hurst-Euless-Bedford family knows it’s about more than
even the Friday night lights. Pennington Field is the “stadium
for all seasons.” With its combination of amenities and friendly,
hometown character, Pennington has become the destination of
choice for spectacular events that focus on community: 6Stones
Pulling for Hope, HEB Reads!, the Black and Blue Fun Run, and
even helicopter landings for Santa. Over the past 30 years it has
served as a symbol of the strength and size of our community’s
heart.
The facility’s welcoming feel goes back to its very beginnings, when Stadium Director Nelson Moore prioritized
hospitality. Moore led his entire team, from coaches to custodians, to set and meet high standards with their
work. To this day, his legacy lives on, as every event aims to deliver an excellent and memorable experience.
