Refrigerators , PLC and inverter in precious metals refinery
Refinery and treatment of precious metals involve several critical points along the production process , which include casting , melting , and separation . Cooling systems are essential assets in the refinery industry , ensuring the right temperature regulation of the furnace and along the different steps of the refining process . For a customer operating in the refinery industry of precious metals , Tempco has supplied a special plant served by refrigerators , that provide the cooling energy required for the thermoregulation of the production process . A pumping circuit , equipped with control of temperatures and flow rates using a PLC with an operator panel and inverter for energy saving , conveys the cooling
fluid to the different utilities within the refining plant . The cooling solution contributes to achieving the energy efficiency and sustainable production levels reached by the customer , which also widely employs solutions for automation , supervision , and control of the production process .

SINTX Technologies awarded DOE grant
SINTX Technologies , Inc ., an original equipment manufacturer of advanced ceramics , is pleased to announce the receipt of a Phase II award of USD 1.1M , issued by the U . S . Department of Energy ( DOE ) to develop , design , and characterize 3D-printed alumina ceramic heat exchangers for heating , ventilation , and air conditioning systems ( HVAC ). The proposal was originally submitted by Technology Assessment and Transfer ( TA & T ), now a wholly owned subsidiary of SINTX . The Phase II award follows the successful completion of the Phase I effort by TA & T . The award aligns with the DOE ’ s interest in supporting unique technologies for next-generation non-metallic heat exchanger systems to improve the energy efficiency of heat pumps and air conditioners over a broad range of operating conditions for building and industrial applications . Non-metallic alumina ceramic heat exchangers offer lighter weight , exceptional corrosion resistance , and higher thermal conductivity than stainless steel and / or polymeric heat exchangers . 3D printing enables the fabrication of compact microheat exchangers with higher heat transfer and leakagefree features that cannot be achieved with conventional metal heat exchanger fabrication methods .
