GreenFire Energy & PT Medco Power Indonesia sign MoU
GreenFire Energy Inc . and PT Medco Power Indonesia have signed a memorandum of understanding ( MoU ) to cooperate on future geothermal projects to achieve the Indonesian Government ’ s Net Zero Emissions by 2060 . GreenFire Energy will provide its GreenFire ’ s GreenLoop™ technology ( GreenLoop ) and business model to accelerate geothermal projects . PT Medco Power Indonesia will provide geothermal project opportunities , geothermal exploration services , and drilling services . PT Medco Power Indonesia , one of the leading Independent Power Producers and a subsidiary of PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk , owns and operates power plants with a gross capacity of over 3.1 GW in 15 locations in Indonesia . The company is focused on implementing
Indonesia ’ s energy transformation policy and actively promoting geothermal power generation in Indonesia with its rich exploration and drilling experience . Currently , PT Medco Power Indonesia is developing the Ijen Geothermal project in East Java and PV plant projects in West and East Bali . GreenFire Energy has developed a versatile , closed-loop Advanced Geothermal System ( AGS ) called GreenLoop . GreenLoop can economically access the entire spectrum of geothermal and certain oil and gas resources that conventional geothermal technology cannot . The technology enables new and existing operators and developers to retrofit idle wells , expand existing fields with new wells , and de-risk the development of new geothermal resources quickly and economically . ERII to supply PX Pressure Exchanger for desalination project
Energy Recovery ( ERII ), a company that specializes in commercial and industrial fluid-flow markets , has secured contracts worth nearly USD 17M to supply PX ® Pressure Exchanger ® energy recovery devices for desalination facilities in the Gulf region . These contracts include a municipal desalination facility set to produce over 132 million gallons per day to a region facing severe water scarcity . These facilities represent a significant advancement in tackling the area ’ s critical water challenges and strengthening sustainable water security . Anticipated to be completed by Q4 2023 , these facilities cater to both municipal and industrial needs , promising to make a substantial positive impact on the region ’ s water resources and affordability , while preventing over 400,000 metric tons of carbon emissions from entering the atmosphere each year . Energy Recovery creates technologies that solve complex challenges for commercial and industrial fluid-flow markets worldwide , reducing energy consumption by up to 60 %.
Vårgrønn and Energia Group announce partnership
Offshore wind company Vårgrønn , a joint venture between Plenitude ( Eni ) and HitecVision , and the Irish renewable-focused integrated utility Energia Group , announce a partnership to co-develop offshore wind projects in Ireland with the potential to deliver total capacity of up to 1.8 GW by 2030 . The partnership will initially focus on the development of two sites , located in the Northern Celtic Sea and the Southern Irish Sea respectively , with a capacity of up to 900 MW each , that will allow Plenitude , through Vårgrønn , to expand its activities into the Irish offshore wind market . Plenitude is Eni ’ s Benefit Corporation ( Società Benefit ) integrating production from renewables , the sale of energy services , and a large network of electric vehicle charging points . The company ’ s objective is to reach over 7 GW installed capacity by 2026 and achieve net zero Scope 1 , 2 , and 3 CO2 emissions by 2040 .
