Honeywell collaborates with Moleda
Honeywell is supplying Moleda with its ControlEdge™ PCD technology to support temperature and moisture control processes for sterilizing plants and equipment in the agriculture sector . Honeywell ’ s process controls enable Moleda to offer a pesticidefree solution for growing plants for consumption . Based in Sylling , Norway , Moleda uses steam to sterilize plants and equipment through a precisely controlled temperature cycle . Their innovative offering , Plantsauna , aims to disinfect plants without pesticides , aligning with local and global regulations , and helping plants grow faster with fruit more evenly distributed .
Before going into the ground , plants are placed in a chamber that is custom built with carefully controlled temperature and moisture levels , designed to kill pests , diseases , and fungi without harming the plant or introducing pesticides . Honeywell ControlEdge™ enables Moleda to reliably control the chamber conditions for growing strawberries . Honeywell ’ s ControlEdge™ PCD is a new generation programable logic controller ( PLC ) with modular IO that delivers integrated communication efforts and enhanced cybersecurity . The platform allows Moleda to record , monitor , archive , and manage
temperature and moisture data through mobile systems . With the scalable design , compact form factor , and fast execution time , enable Moleda to produce high quality products .
Lennox to sell Hyfra process cooling business
Lennox has agreed to sell its process cooling business Hyfra Industriekühlanlagen GmbH to Glen Dimplex . Headquartered in Krunkel , Germany , Hyfra supplies cooling systems and air heat exchangers for a range of cooling applications including those in the laser industry , machine tool engineering and filtration industries . The company was founded in 1981 and acquired by Lennox in 1997 . “ Divesting this European business will enable us to continue our focused strategy on North
America where we are best positioned to achieve our revenue growth and profit margin targets ,” commented Lennox CEO Alok Maskara . Glen Dimplex CEO Fergal Leamy described the acquisition as “ an important milestone ” for his company , “ enabling us to further expand our precision cooling business globally , and align with customer needs as we transition to a more sustainable future .” The transaction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023 .
