Heat transfer leaders receive lifetime achievement awards
N-thalpie invests in Turkish manufacturing capabilities
Two former Presidents of the Heat Transfer Society have received Lifetime Achievement Awards for their contributions to the advancement of heat transfer science. The awards were presented at the UK National Heat Transfer Committee’ s biennial dinner, held alongside the UK National Heat Transfer Conference. Martin Gough, founder and Managing Director of CALGAVIN Limited, served as President of the Heat Transfer Society from 2019 to 2021 and previously chaired the
society for several years. In 2025, he also established the Centre for Flow Processing, CALGAVIN’ s research arm focused on fluid flow, heat and mass transfer. Peter Heggs, FREng, FIChemE, CEng, BSc, PhD, is Emeritus Professor at the University of Manchester and Visiting Research Professor at the University of Leeds. He served as Society President in 1994. The event also recognized Lykourgos Saravanos of Newcastle University for the best undergraduate thesis.
N-thalpie has invested in HEA Engineering, a manufacturing company based in Bursa, Türkiye, to expand its engineering and production capabilities. HEA operates approximately 3,000m 2 of production space and manufactures heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping systems, steel structures and customized process equipment. The Bursa location also provides access to international logistics infrastructure, with Gemlik Port approximately 15 minutes away. According to N-thalpie, this proximity will support the shipment of
equipment to projects in international markets. The investment combines N-thalpie’ s engineering and project management capabilities with HEA’ s manufacturing capacity. The companies said the expanded structure is intended to provide greater control over production, quality and delivery schedules, while supporting the execution of industrial projects. The move forms part of N-thalpie’ s efforts to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and international project delivery.
