Closing the year, turning up the heat!
October has arrived, and for the heat transfer industry, that means it is time to turn up the heat! With autumn underway and the final preparations in place, we are looking ahead to one of the key moments in this year’ s Heat Exchanger World calendar: Heat Exchanger World Americas Conference & Expo 2026. And as this is also our final issue of the year, it feels like the right moment to bring 2026 to a close by coming together once more, exchanging ideas and looking ahead to what comes next.
Editorial
Taking place on 6 & 7 October in Baytown, Texas, the event will once again bring together end users, manufacturers, fabricators, EPCs, service providers and technology specialists for two days of technical exchange, networking and new ideas.
For us at Heat Exchanger World, this is exactly what makes these events so valuable. The most useful conversations often begin with a technical challenge: a difficult operating condition, an ageing asset, a persistent fouling problem or a design that needs to deliver more with less. Bringing the people who face those challenges together with those developing the solutions creates an opportunity to exchange not only heat, but experience. You can explore the full Advance Conference Program and event information on page 27.
Our Cover Story takes us to India, where Heavy Metal & Tubes( HMT) has spent almost five decades developing its manufacturing capabilities in seamless carbon, alloy and stainless steel tubes and pipes. In this interview, we explore HMT’ s evolution, its growing capabilities in specialised tubing, and its important role in heat exchanger and boiler applications.
Our Feature Story turns to another critical question: how do we keep ageing assets performing when there is increasingly little room for failure? The article highlights why lifecycle planning is becoming increasingly important as operators push existing infrastructure beyond its original design life.
Meanwhile, our Technical Spotlight continues our Heat Transfer Enhancement series with Part 8, exploring hiTRAN wire matrix tube inserts from CALGAVIN.
Even though October brings a little autumn chill, we have plenty of reasons to keep things hot. Whether you are joining us in Baytown or following the latest developments through these pages, I hope this issue gives you something to think about, something to discuss, and perhaps something to take with you to the show.
And as we close the final pages of 2026, I would also like to thank everyone who has been part of the Heat Exchanger World community this year: our readers, contributors, advertisers, speakers, exhibitors and everyone who continues to share their knowledge and expertise with us. It has been another year of exchanging ideas, meeting challenges and looking towards the future of heat transfer.
I hope you enjoy this final issue of the year, and I look forward to continuing the conversation with you in 2027.
All the best, Iryna Mukha Editor i. mukha @ kci-world. com
