Daikin starts construction of a new heat pump factory

Daikin has recently started construction of a new factory in Poland . This new factory will start production of heat pumps in July 2024 and the total investment would be EUR 300M ( equivalent to yen 42.3bn at the exchange rate of 1 euro = 141 yen ). The new factory will create 1,000 jobs by 2025 and 3,000 jobs by 2030 . As the new production base in Europe , the new factory in Poland will serve to augment current production in Germany , Belgium , and the Czech Republic with production capacity quadrupling ( compared to FY2021 ) by 2025 .
BHEL and NPCIL sign MoU
It will also help the company to create a production system with a stable product supply for the ever-growing heat pump market . Over the past decade , the European heat pump market has grown by an average annual rate of 10 % to achieve sales of 1 million units in 2021 . The European Green Deal policy , which aims to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions in the EU region by 2050 , has further accelerated the spread of heat pumps . Market expansion is forecast to hit annual sales of at least 3.5 million units by 2025 .

Nuclear Power Corporation of India ( NPCIL ) and Bharat Heavy Electricals ( BHEL ) has entered into a memorandum of understanding ( MoU ) to jointly pursue business opportunities in the area of nuclear power plants based on pressurized heavy water reactor ( PHWR ) technology . Under the MoU , BHEL , and NPCIL will jointly explore opportunities for the development of nuclear power projects to reduce project gestation time . The collaboration will pave the way for the early implementation of non-polluting and long-cycle projects , which will also complement the

BHEL is the only Indian company to be actively associated with all three stages of the Indian Nuclear Programme , with the capability to design , engineer , manufacture & supply , the primary side ( reactor headers , end shields , and others ) as well as the secondary side ( steam turbines , generators , heat exchangers , among others ) equipment for nuclear power plants . NPCIL boasts of operating 22 commercial nuclear power plants in India , with a total installed capacity of 6,780 MWe , and over 580 reactor years of safe operating experience .
