Epiroc inaugurates heat treatment plant in Sweden
Epiroc , a productivity and sustainability partner for the mining and infrastructure industries , inaugurating a new topmodern heat treatment plant for rock drills in Örebro , Sweden . Heat treatment is an essential part of rock drill manufacturing . The new heat treatment plant , built through an expansion of the current workshop building , will benefit customers by further strengthening rock drill quality and performance , lowering their total cost of ownership . It will also enable higher production volumes . Production at the 1,400 m 2 heat treatment plant will be able to run 24 hours a day thanks to automation . Energy efficiency is a key focus for the design ; for example , the residual heat will be recycled internally to heat buildings as well as externally to Örebro ’ s local heating system . The building also has solar panels .
CGRN secures order for 600kW biogas
Capstone Green Energy Corporation ( CGRN ), a global leader in carbon reduction and on-site resilient green energy solutions has announced that E-Finity Distributed Generation , Capstone ’ s exclusive distributor for the Mid-Atlantic , Southeastern United States , and the Caribbean , has secured an order for a biogas-fueled Capstone C600 Signature Series microturbine . The microturbine system will be coupled with an Alfa Laval Micro heat exchanger to heat thermal oil from 200 degrees to 280 degrees , resulting in a 40 % temperature increase in the biogas production process . The order is scheduled to be commissioned in late 2023 .
The waste heat from the C600S microturbine will be channeled into an Alfa Laval heat exchanger and will heat thermal oil in an innovative way to produce the biogas , all while providing the highest system efficiency possible . The system will be controlled and operated using the E-Finity m-TIM PLC Controller . The m-TIM will systemically operate the C600S microturbine , a 250-scfm gas conditioning skid , and the heat exchanger , allowing for peak performance of the CHP output and lowering energy costs .
Baker Hughes to supply LM9000 gas turbine Liebherr and ZF jointly develop high speed compressors
Baker Hughes , an energy technology company has been awarded an order to be booked in the first quarter of 2023 , by Black & Veatch , a subcontractor to the JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries consortium , to deliver two LM9000-driven compressor trains for the PETRONAS nearshore liquefied natural gas facility in Sabah , Malaysia . Liebherr ’ s technology is eco-friendly : Its high speed compressors are driven by an electrical motor and feature air bearings , which means that they do not require any lubrication . Thus , the compressors do supply clean , compressed air to the fuel cell stack , not adding any pollution to the membrane . Such technology is an enabler for the deployment of fuel cell propulsion systems with only emissions of water and heat , which aids in the movement for more environmentally friendly transportation . |
