I cannot quite believe that we are now halfway through our Heat Exchanger World 2023 magazine schedule . With four issues down and four more to go , it feels as though we are speeding through this year ! For me , April was filled with work-based fun ( experiencing the success of our inaugural Green Steel World and Hydrogen Tech World events ) and outdoor fun ( a quick climbing trip to Belgium over the Easter weekend ). Balancing work and life has become a core focus for many of us over recent years , so it feels good to put it into practice . And most recently , excitement has already been building for our 2024 European event in Rotterdam ( 6 th & 7 th November ) as we now work on preparations for the Conference and Expo . But before we get too carried away with next year ’ s plans , let ’ s look to what the rest of 2023 has in store . Our Heat Exchanger World team in Toronto is busy putting together a fantastic fourth event to be held in Pasadena ( TX ), USA , this October . Growing every year and providing a solid networking base for our North American community , Heat Exchanger World Americas promises to be an unmissable event in the heat exchanger industry calendar . Also in this May issue , we share valuable insights from heat exchanger subject matter expert and author , Mr Mihir Patel . Mr Patel shares his knowledge and experience through the format of published handbooks and training courses for chemical engineers ; you can find one such example of his expertise on pages 28-32 .
And , despite the current economic uncertainty affecting many industries across much of the globe , James Chater writes on pages 38-42 that the pipes and fittings sector is experiencing a relatively positive growth . “ The global stainless-steel tubes and pipes market , estimated at USD 32 billion in 2021 , is anticipated to grow to 44.7 billion in 2028 , with an annual compound growth of 4.6 %,” says James .
Our May cover story looks to long-established heat exchanger manufacturer , Vahterus .
