Kids in the Kitchen, a University of Missouri Extension
class, was held in the St. Joseph Office. According to
the Extension’s website, Kids in the Kitchen encourages
young people to eat healthier meals and snacks as a
result of hands-on cooking experiences. Participants
learn to prepare simple, healthy foods they can make for
themselves and their family members.

Libby Tull of Macon is using the
FCS Ag Youth Program to fund her
4H woodworking project to build
cages and housing to raise sugar
gliders. Once grown the gliders
are sold as pets. Libby is interested
in the genetic makeup of the
animals. She has been accepted by
the National Science Foundation
to attend classes and is going to
research what different genetic
lines have on the temperament of
the pets.
