Heart Home magazine Issue 12 - June 2014 | Page 3

Welcome Home from the Editors This is the first of our three summer issues and we’re celebrating the season in true British fashion here at Heart Home by spending every fleeting moment outside no matter what the weather throws at us. Nothing says English countryside quite like a 300 year old cottage complete with inglenook fireplace, so our home renovation on page 17 will be sure to set a few hearts a flutter. And nothing says countryside quite like a few vases of flowers picked from the hedgerows so we have an extract from Willow Crossley’s new book ‘The Art of Living with Nature’ to inspire you too. And we have gone slightly shopping mad this summer. If you fancy a taste of the Cote d’Azur on your patio check out the shopping feature on page 30. And we are kicking off the first of a new shopping series that cover the rooms in the house we might have previously overlooked – and this month it’s the kitchen. Or industrial edged kitchens to be more precise. But it’s not all about shopping and country walks –oh no. If you are the type who can’t relax for long we have our ‘Colour Pop’ feature with lots of easy DIY projects for injecting colour into the home, a feature on Crete for those who like to travel further afield and a delicious ice cream recipe for anyone handy in the kitchen. Enjoy. Carole and Arianna COVER PHOTOGRAPH by JOANNA HENDERSON • STYLED by CHARLOTTE LOVE • EDITORS’ PHOTOGRAPH by ANDREW BOYD
