“Paint is the cheapest and the easiest way to
dramatically change a room. If you hate it you can
always change it,” she continues. “People are always
really scared of colour. I’ve tried and tested loads, but
you soon figure out why they don’t work. I’ve learnt
way more from my mistakes than my successes.”

Abigail lives in a beautiful east London townhouse
with her husband, who now works with her. They
have two dogs, Maude and Mungo. The house, built
in 1860, has a great bone structure which is the
perfect canvas for her dark aesthetic.
“I knew I wanted a four-storey townhouse. We
weren’t tied to an area but this house had all the
right proportions so we bought it,” she explains.
Abigail has also given the house the perfect face
lift: a double height extension to the rear of the
property. Sunshine pours in through huge glass
panels and the doors act as a gateway to a beautiful
forest like garden. “It acts as an extension to the
house…it makes the space feel bigger,” she explains.
