The shop acts as a hub not only for those in need,
but also for the community as it hosts regular craft
workshops, conducted by local tutors, and it is a
place to come and share ideas.
“Our main carpentry workshop in Bodmin is run
by Nick Clegg, a cabinet maker with many years’
experience and a cacophony of skills under his
belt,” Tara tells us. “We also offer training for
volunteers through our electrical workshop on the
same site.”
This place really is the antithesis of a hidden gem. It
has established a great rapport locally and continues
to bring exciting ideas into the workshops and
vintage furniture displays. Tara is also a gem in
her own right; enthusiastic and bubbly, she is a
great ambassador for the company and has sights
of growing the business, but understands that it’s
the people who make it. “Every person has a story
... every furniture piece has a story,” she says.
